Nonprofit Organization Taxes – Repaire
A short and very useful course to learn more about tax law as it applies to non-profit organizations.

This session is devoted to tax law for nonprofit organizations and is geared specifically to managers, administrators, and cultural workers. The instructor will present certain basic notions on GST and PST, as well as tax obligations specific to nonprofit organizations. He will answer practical question, such as: Are membership fees taxable? What is the difference between a T4, a T4a and a T5? Etc.
This three (3) hour, stand-alone module is the second of a two-part course. You can register for one or both, depending on your needs.
Learning Objectives
- Define the tax status of nonprofit organizations.
- Understand tax calculations for nonprofit organizations’ revenues and expenses.
- Understand what is required from nonprofit organizations for both tax forms and tax returns.
Instructor
Member of the Quebec Chartered Professional Accountant Order since 2004, Philippe Beaulieu (MBA, CPA auditor, CA) runs his own artistic management firm offering administrative support and tax advice for artists and cultural workers. He is also a lecturer at l’École de comptabilité of Laval University and at the Département des sciences de la gestion at the Université du Québec à Rimouski, at the Lévis campus.
