Taylor Yeung

Taylor Yeung (she/her) is a movement artist, dancing, teaching and performing in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal since 2014. Deeply drawn to the music and culture that surrounds club dances, she found a passion for the two dance styles she specializes in: Hustle and w(x)acking. As the other half of Julien & Taylor, she is part of the new generation at the forefront of the global resurgence of Hustle, teaching and competing locally and internationally. Together they have had the opportunity to visit New York City on multiple occasions to nourish their passion for the dance – learning on the social dancefloor about the culture and music surrounding the dance as well as from pioneers and icons of the dance. J&T's approach to Hustle is grounded in the connection between individuals and the music, it aims to honor their mentors’ teachings while maintaining authenticity to their own expression and styling. As instructors, they enjoy breaking down ideas, movements and concepts into their most basic forms in order to make knowledge accessible to all. J&T have been building up their local Hustle scene since 2020.

Taylor also holds a B.Sc. in Kinesiology and is a registered massage therapist. She has worked with athletes and dancers professionally and excels at giving tips and tricks to improve form and technique to help others avoid injury. Her knowledge in this field is not only useful when it comes to Hustle instruction, it also nourishes her interest in understanding how the mind-body connection is expressed in movement.
