Vicki Sue Machin

Vicki Sue Machin (she/they) is an interdisciplinary choreographic artist based in Tiohtiá:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal and Odàwàg/Ottawa. In 2017, she received a BFA in Performance Dance at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). In 2019, they trained in Pochinko clown with John Turner and Jennifer Dallas. In 2019, she participated in the Emerging Voices Project at Toronto Dance Theatre where she collaborated with dancers to build a performance based on improvisation structures. Through art and social practice, she nudges at what’s here in our lived relational experiences. Their participatory installation, The Phantom Postal Service was presented at Lots of Love (LOL) Festival 2022. Recently, she created and performed in a solo as part of So You Think That Was Dance?, an annual dance event in Montreal. She completed the ATLAS choreographic programme at ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival 2023. Her work engages with questions of self-making, friendship and elegy.
