Madz DeRose blends emotions through physicality in her artistic exploration. What are the physical capabilities and limits we have within ourselves to trust another person with our safety is a subject DeRose often explores and is continuing to research within her work. Her work explores the complexities of interpersonal relationships, focusing on the interplay between "togetherness" and individuality. She investigates themes of trust and vulnerability, pushing the boundaries of physical expression. Since graduation, she has explored integrating fabric, collage, and visual mediums to compose cohesive choreographic narratives. Madz is particularly interested in the intersection of collage and movement, aiming to facilitate a dialogue between these visual forms. Her goal is to create honest, evocative movement that sparks a meaningful exchange between performer and viewer, inviting them to delve into the complexities of human connection and emotion through the language of dance, sense, and memory.
