Sourcing different techniques and movement approaches significant to her, including release technique, Cunningham, tai chi, and hatha yoga, Dominique Porte invites you to increase your movement capacity and develop your physical, dynamic, and sensory skills through her technique class.

The class begins with different floorwork and standing exercises and combinations to engage your physical perception in relationship to yourself and your environment. You will experiment with notions of weight and coordination, modulating dynamics to increase awareness of muscular and skeletal connections, and improving your cardiovascular capacity to imbue your movement with presence and vitality.

The second part of class is dedicated to learning a combination that will challenge your dynamic skills, and your proficiency to travel and inhabit space through dance. Considering that no position nor movement is a static balance, you will be encouraged to use “appropriate effort.”

Maximum capacity: 50 people
