Ariane Levasseur

Based in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), Ariane Levasseur uses the body as her main artistic vehicle. Her bachelor's degree in dance at UQÀM enabled her to work with Andrea Peña, Danièle Desnoyers and Catherine Gaudet, among others. In 2021, she is part of Caroline Laurin-Beaucage's Habiter nos mémoires project, broadcast at Place des Arts. In 2023, she begins work on the new Carré des Lombes creation. Her piece "this is not moving", co-created with Rozenn Lecomte, will be presented at Danses Buissonnières (Tangente) in fall 2023. As a performer-creator, she continues to explore resistance, the charm of demands and fragments of intimacy through movement in different performative contexts.
